Not everything Ween produce is supposed to be ‘funny’. There’s some real dark shit at the core of their work and Spinal Meningitis is a perfect example of that. Ween are far from a joke band, and Spinal Meningitis is far from a joke song.
To decry that song is akin to decrying an important element that make Ween who they are.
